Buah jeruk sunkist, kian diminati
Salah satu jenis jeruk yang sedang populer saat ini adalah jeruk sunkist. Mulai dari gerai buah di supermarket hingga pasar tradisional dan pinggir jalan, jeruk ini selalu mendominasi karena memang tersedia sepanjang tahun. Penggila jeruk ini biasanya mengonsumsi sunkist dengan cara dimakan langsung atau dibuat menjadi jus.
Tanaman buah asal California, Arizona ini tidak terlalu menuntut banyak hal untuk rajin berbuah. Temperatur optimal untuk pertumbuhan berkisar 25-30 ºC. Sementara kelembaban optimum untuk pertumbuhan tanaman ini sekitar 70-80%. Jenis tanah yang disukai adalah lempung sampai lempung berpasir dengan fraksi liat 7-27%, debu 25-50%, dan pasir < 50%; cukup humus; serta memiliki tata air dan udara baik. Jenis tanah Andosol dan Latosol sangat cocok untuk bertanam jeruk. pH yang diinginkan adalah 5,5-6,5.
Dengan semakin menyempitnya halaman rumah, beberapa ibu rumah tangga menanam jeruk Sunkist di dalam pot (tabulampot). Untuk keperluan tabulampot, bibit yang dipilih dipastikan yang bagus, dengan ciri-ciri sebagai berikut.
- Pilih bibit asal okulasi dengan 1 cabang dari mata tunas tempel.
- Tinggi bibit berkisar 40-60 cm dengan umur sekitar 3-6 bulan.
- Bibit yang telah berbuah akan lebih bagus, tetapi umumnya lebih mahal dibandingkan bibit yang belum berbuah.
- Bibit terbebas dari vektor dan penyakit utama.
Pilih bibit yang sehat dan sudah berbuah
b) Tahap menanam tabulampot
- Pilih pot ukuran yang tepat dengan lubang drainase yang memadai, misalnya pot plastic diameter 35 cm.
- Gunakan campuran tanah yang ringan sehingga air dapat mengalir dengan baik, misalnya berupa campuran tanah merah dengan pupuk kandang (50%:50%).
- Tanam pohon sehingga leher akar berada di atas garis tanah. Jangan menutupi batang dengan tanah.
- Tekan tanah di sekitar bola akar untuk memberikan stabilitas air.
- Ikat tanaman pada kayu pancang dengan ikatan longgar jika diperlukan untuk menegakan tanaman dan mencegah tanaman roboh.
- Tempatkan pot di area yang bisa terkena sinar matahari langsung, minimal penerimaan cahaya matahari 8 jam per hari.
- Mengingat media tanam dalam pot mudah sekali kering karena penguapan, sebaiknya penyiraman dilakukan secara rutin, sehari dua kali. Namun, jika media tanam masih terlihat basah, tidak perlu dilakukan penyiraman.
- Penggantian media tanam dengan media pot campuran tanah segar dilakukan setiap tahun atau dua tahun sekali agar nutrisi untuk tanah tetap tersedia.
c) Agar rajin berbuah
Agar rajin berbuah, tanaman Sunkist perlu dipelihara dengan baik, terutama penyiraman, penggemburan, pemupukan, dan pemangkasan. Sebaiknya penyiraman dilakukan secara rutin, tetapi jangan sampai menggenangi batang akar. Cara lain untuk memicu pembentukan buah adalah dengan pemangkasan. Dari tunas-tunas awal yang tumbuh, biarkan 3-4 tunas pada jarak seragam yang kelak akan membentuk tajuk pohon. Tunas lainnya sebaiknya dipangkas. Demikian juga pada pertumbuhan selanjutnya, setiap cabang memiliki 3-4 ranting atau kelipatannya. Bekas luka pangkasan ditutup dengan fungisida atau lilin untuk mencegah penyakit. Sebaiknya celupkan dulu gunting pangkas ke dalam klorox/alcohol untuk menghindari inveksi pada luka batang bekas pangkasan.
Agar tabulampot rajin berbuah. Perlu perawatan yang intensif
Gulma dibersihkan sesuai dengan frekuensi pertumbuhannya. Pada saat pemupukan, juga dilakukan penyiangan. Pemupukan secara berkala juga sangat penting untuk memicu pembentukan bunga dan buah. Waktu pemupukan sebagai berikut.
1 bulan: Urea=100; ZA=200; TSP=25; ZK=100; Dolomit=20; P.kandang=20 kg/tan.
2 bulan: Urea=200; ZA=400; TSP=50; ZK=200; Dolomit=40; P.kandang=40 kg/tan.
3 bulan: Urea=300; ZA=600; TSP=75; ZK=300; Dolomit=60; P.kandang=60 kg/tan.
4 bulan: Urea=400; ZA=800; TSP=100; ZK=400; Dolomit=80; P.kandang=80 kg/tan.
5 bulan: Urea=500; ZA=1000; TSP=125; ZK=500; Dolomit=100; P.kandang=100 kg/tan.
6 bulan: Urea=600; ZA=1200; TSP=150; ZK=600; Dolomit=120; P.kandang=120 kg/tan.
7 bulan: Urea=700; ZA=1400; TSP=175; ZK=700; Dolomit=140; P.kandang=140 kg/tan.;
8 bulan: Urea=800; ZA=1600; TSP=200; ZK=800; Dolomit=160; P.kandang=160 kg/tan.
> 8 bulan: Urea ?1000; ZA=2000; TSP=200; ZK=800; Dolomit=200; P.kandang=200 kg/tan.
d) Pengendalian hama dan penyakit
Hama
Kutu loncat (Diaphorina citri.)
Gejala: tunas keriting, tanaman mati.
Pengendalian: menggunakan insektisida bahan aktif dimethoate (Roxion 40 EC, Rogor 40 EC), Monocrotophos (Azodrin 60 WSC) dan endosulfan (Thiodan 3G, 35 EC dan Dekasulfan 350 EC). Penyemprotan dilakukan menjelang dan saat bertunas, Selain itu buang bagian yang terserang.
Kutu daun (Toxoptera citridus aurantii, Aphis gossypii.)
Gejala: daun menggulung dan membekas sampai daun dewasa.
Pengendalian: menggunakan insektisida dengan bahan aktif Methidathion (Supracide 40 EC), Dimethoate (Perfecthion, Rogor 40 EC, Cygon), Diazinon (Basudin 60 EC), Phosphamidon (Dimecron 50 SCW), Malathion (Gisonthion 50 EC).
Ulat peliang daun (Phyllocnistis citrella.)
Gejala: alur melingkar transparan atau keperakan, tunas/daun muda mengkerut, menggulung, rontok.
Pengendalian: semprotkan insektisida dengan bahan aktif Methidathion (Supracide 40 EC, Basudin 60 EC), Malathion (Gisonthion 50 EC, 50 WP)< Diazinon (Basazinon 45/30 EC). Kemudian daun dipetik dan dibenamkan dalam tanah.
Tungau (Tenuipalsus sp. , Eriophyes sheldoni Tetranychus sp)
Gejala: bercak keperakperakan atau coklat pada buah dan bercak kuning atau coklat pada daun.
Pengendalian: semprotkan insektisida Propargite (Omite), Cyhexation (Plictran), Dicofol (Kelthane), Oxythioquimox (Morestan 25 WP, Dicarbam 50 WP).
Penggerek buah (Citripestis sagittiferella.)
Gejala: lubang yang mengeluarkan getah.
Pengendalian: memetik buah yang terinfeksi kemudian menggunakan insektisida Methomyl (Lannate 25 WP, Nudrin 24 WSC), Methidathion (Supracide 40 EC) yang disemprotkan pada buah berumur 2-5 minggu.
Kutu penghisap daun (Helopeltis antonii.)
Gejala: bercak coklat kehitaman dengan pusat berwarna lebih terang pada tunas dan buah muda, bercak disertai keluarnya cairan buah yang menjadi nekrosis.
Pengendalian: semprotkan insektisida Fenitrotionmothion (Sumicidine 50 EC), Fenithion (Lebaycid), Metamidofos (Tamaron), Methomil (Lannate 25 WP).
Ulat penggerek bunga dan puru buah (Prays sp.)
Gejala: bekas lubang-lubang bergaris tengah 0,3-0,5 cm, bunga mudah rontok, buah muda gugur sebelum tua.
Pengendalian: gunakan insektisida dengan bahan aktif Methomyl (Lannate 25 WP) dan Methidathion (Supracide 40 EC). Kemudian buang bagian yang diserang.
Thrips (Scirtotfrips citri.)
Gejala: helai daun menebal, tepi daun menggulung ke atas, daun di ujung tunas menjadi hitam, kering dan gugur, bekas luka berwarna coklat keabu-abuan kadang-kadang disertai nekrotis.
Pengendalian: menjaga agar tajuk tanaman tidak terlalu rapat dan sinar matahari measuk ke bagian tajuk, hindari memakai mulsa jerami. Kemudian gunakan insektisida berbahan aktif Difocol (Kelthane) atau Z-Propargite (Omite) pada masa bertunas.
Kutu dompolon (Planococcus citri.)
Gejala: berkas berwarna kuning, mengering dan buah gugur.
Pengendalian: gunakan insektisda Methomyl (Lannate 25 WP), Triazophos (Fostathion 40 EC), Carbaryl (Sevin 85 S), Methidathion (Supracide 40 EC). Kemudian cegah datangnya semut yang dapat memindahkan kutu.
Lalat buah (Dacus sp.)
Gejala: lubang kecil di bagian tengah, buah gugur, belatung kecil di bagian dalam buah.
Pengendalian: gunakan insektisida Fenthion (Lebaycid 550 EC), Dimethoathe (Roxion 40 EC, Rogor 40 EC) dicampur dengan Feromon Methyl-Eugenol atau protein Hydrolisate.
Kutu sisik (Lepidosaphes beckii Unaspis citri.)
Gejala: daun berwarna kuning, bercak khlorotis dan gugur daun. Pada gejala serangan berat terlihat ranting dan cabang kering dan kulit retak buah gugur.
Pengendalian: gunakan pestisida Diazinon (Basudin 60 EC, 10 G, Basazinon 45/30 EC), Phosphamidon (Dimecron 50 SCW), Dichlorophos (Nogos 50 EC), Methidhation (Supracide 40 EC).
Kumbang belalai (Maeuterpes dentipes.)
Gejala: daun gugur, ranting muda kadang-kadang mati.
Pengendalian: perbaiki sanitasi kebun, kurangi kelembaban perakaran. Kemudian gunakan insektisida Carbaryl (Sevin 85 S) dan Diazinon (Basudin 60 EC, 10 G).
Penyakit
CVPD (Bacterium like organism) dengan vektor kutu loncat Diaphorina citri.
Gejala: daun sempit, kecil, lancip, buah kecil, asam, biji rusak dan pangkal buah oranye.
Pengendalian: gunakan tanaman sehat dan bebas CVPD. Selain itu penempatan lokasi kebun minimal 5 km dari kebun jeruk yang terserang CVPD. Gunakan insektisida untuk vektor dan perhatikan sanitasi kebun yang baik.
Tristeza (virus Citrus tristeza dengan vektor Toxoptera)
Gejala: lekuk batang , daun kaku pemucatan, vena daun, pertumbuhan terhambat.
Pengendalian: perhatikan sanitasi kebun, memusnahkan tanaman yang terserang, kemudian kendalikan vektor dengan insektisida Supracide atau Cascade.
Woody gall (Vein Enation) (virus Citrus Vein Enation dengan vektor Toxoptera citridus, Aphis gossypii)
Gejala: Tonjolan tidak teratur yang tersebar pada tulang daun di permukaan daun.
Pengendalian: gunaan mata tempel bebas virus dan perhatikan sanitasi lingkungan.
Blendok (jamur Diplodia natalensis)
Gejala: kulit ketiak cabang menghasilkan gom yang menarik perhatian kumbang, warna kayu jadi keabu-abuan, kulit kering dan mengelupas.
Pengendalian: pemotongan cabang terinfeksi, bekas potongan diberi karbolineum atau fungisida Cu. dan fungisida Benomyl 2 kali dalam setahun.
Embun tepung (jamur Odidium tingitanium)
Gejala: tepung berwarna putih di daun dan tangkai muda.
Pengendalian: gunakan fungisida Pyrazophos (Afugan) dan Bupirimate (Nimrot 25 EC).
Kudis (jamur Sphaceloma fawcetti)
Gejala: bercak kecil jernih yang berubah menjadi gabus berwarna kuning atau oranye.
Pengendalian: pemangkasan teratur. Kemudian gunakan Fungisida Dithiocarbamate /Benomyl (Benlate).
Busuk buah (Penicillium spp. Phytophtora citriphora, Botryodiplodia theobromae)
Gejala: terdapat tepung-tepung padat berwarna hijau kebiruan pada permukaan kulit.
Pengendalian: hindari kerusakan mekanis, celupkan buah ke dalam air panas/fungisida benpmyl, pelilinan buah dan pemangkasan bagian bawah pohon.
Busuk akar dan pangkal batang (jamur Phyrophthoranicotianae)
Gejala: tunas tidak segar, tanaman kering.
Pengendalian: pengolahan dan pengairan yang baik, sterilisasi tanah pada waktu penanaman, buat tinggi tempelan minimum 20 cm dari permukaan tanah.
Buah gugur premature (jamur Fusarium sp. Colletotrichum sp. Alternaria sp.)
Gejala: dua-empat minggu sebelum panen buah gugur.
Pengendalian: Fungisida Benomyl (Benlate) atau Caprafol.
Jamur upas (Upasia salmonicolor)
Gejala: retakan melintang pada batang dan keluarnya gom, batang kering dan sulit dikelupas.
Pengendalian: kulit yang terinfeksi dikelupas dan disaput fungisida carbolineum. Kemudian potong cabang yang terinfeksi.
Kanker (bakteri Xanthomonas campestris Cv. Citri.)
Gejala: bercak kecil berwarna hijau-gelap atau kuning di sepanjang tepi, luka membesar dan tampak seperti gabus pecah dengan diameter 3-5 mm.
Pengendalian: Fungisida Cu seperti Bubur Bordeaux, Copper oxychlorida. Selain itu untuk mencegah serangan ulat peliang daun adalah dengan mencelupkan mata tempel ke dalam 1.000 ppm Streptomycin selama 1 jam.
